Men Begin Home-Stand by Hosting 24-Ranked Falcons

Saturday's game is being dubbed "2 of $2 with Men's Basketball." Any fan who brings two (2) canned goods will be admitted to Saturday's contest for just $2! All canned items collected will be donated to Family Services, Inc.
BILLINGS, Mont. – Returning home to commence a three-game home-stand following their most recent road-trip, the Montana State University Billings men's basketball team currently holds a 9-7 overall record, including an even 4-4 mark in Great Northwest Athletic Conference action. The Yellowjackets are preparing to host the nationally-24th-ranked Seattle Pacific University Falcons on Saturday at 7 p.m.
 
The 24th-ranked Falcons travel to Billings on Saturday with an overall record of 14-3 that includes a 6-2 conference record to leave SPU third in the current GNAC standings.
 
Against Seattle Pacific, the Yellowjackets hold a 28-31 record all-time and have dominated the series at home, going 20-6 inside Alterowitz Gymnasium. Last season, the two split their home-and-home series with SPU earning a 72-65 overtime game in Seattle while MSUB exacted revenge on their home court with a 68-56 win in Billings.
 
Last week, MSUB split their pair of games on the road, earning a dominating 94-75 win over Northwest Nazarene University before dropping a close, 115-107 shootout to Central Washington University. Seniors Antoine Proctor and Jaxon Myaer went on a scoring frenzy as the duo combined to score 115 of the Yellowjackets' 201 points last week. Proctor scored 30 and 35 points in each game while Myaer had a pair of 25-point outings.
 
Proctor is second in the league in two separate categories including in scoring per game with 19.3 points per outing and steals with 2.4 per game. The senior guard from Washington, D.C. leads four Yellowjackets in double-digit point averages as Myaer is 12th in the conference with 14.6 points per game. Taylor Stevens and Robert Mayes continue to put up points from all over the court, averaging 11.4 points and 11.2 points per game respectively.
 
Myaer finds himself fifth in the GNAC in two categories that include free throw percentage with an .829 (29-35) performance from the stripe and 4.1 assists per game while under the basket, Mayes is averaging a GNAC 10th-best 6.7 boards per game. He leads the team in shooting percentage with a .473 (79-167) percentage from the field.
 
For Seattle Pacific, Andy Poling is currently fifth in the GNAC with 15.9 points per game and is third in rebounding as he is averaging 8.3 boards per game. He is also 11th in the GNAC with a .524 shooting percentage.
 
Teammate David Downs is nipping at his heels with 15.2 points per outing while Jobi Wall is the final Falcon to average double-digit points with 11.2 per contest.
 
Downs is currently in the top-five in three conference categories including second in three-point percentage with a .495. He is also third with 3.6 assists per game and an .859 free throw shooting percentage.
