BILLINGS, Mont. – The Montana State University Billings volleyball team returns home for a pair of home Great Northwest Athletic Conference matches this week after ending this past weekend's campaign, a three-match road trek, 0-3, part of a five-match losing skid.
The Yellowjackets lost the trio of matches 0-3 to Western Oregon University, Saint Martin's University and Seattle Pacific University. They are now 9-13 overall and are relegated to eighth in the GNAC with a 3-9 league mark.
Freshman
Monica Grimsrud is just 107 kills shy of entering the program's top-10 for most kills in a single season as she has a team-high 296 terminations. She is also fourth on the squad with 123 digs which includes three double-doubles this season.
Senior setter
Brooke Tolman has recorded a team-leading 820 assists this season leaving her knocking on the door of 10
th for most assists in a single season, 144 shy to be exact. She has 11 double-doubles on the season.
Melissa Porter played well over the last three matches, producing 23 kills over the weekend including 11 terminations against Saint Martin's while hitting .316. She is now second on the team with 175 kills for the season.
Alaska Anchorage is currently tied with Seattle Pacific for the top spot in the league at 10-2 in conference action. The Seawolves are 14-6 overall. They defeated MSUB 3-0 on Oct. 1 in Anchorage.
Fairbanks is 2-10 in league action and 2-18 overall. They are 1-7 on the road and their only home win of the season came over the Yellowjackets back on Sept. 29 (2-3).
