LYNDEN, WA –
Kevin Davis shot a five-over 149 to tie for third place at the Western Washington Border Battle Invitational Tournament that ended Sunday at the Homestead Golf Course. Davis carded rounds of 75 and 74 to lead the Yellowjackets, who placed third in the four-team field.
Western Washington won its own tournament after sweeping the top two individual honors with a pair of freshmen. The Vikings, who are ranked No. 21 in the nation, shot 585 four the two rounds. Saint Martin's finished second with a 606, followed by MSU Billings at 618 and Simon Fraser at 620.
Chris McConnell posted the Yellowjackets' second lowest score with a 153 after rounds of 76 and 77.
Chris Haas finished at 157,
Eric Staab carded a 159 and
Matt Desin posted a 189.
This weekend's event was the first official meet for the Yellowjackets in the NCAA championship season. They next play at the Colorado Christian Tournament March 30 through April 1.
