Jessica Rayman begins her third season in charge of MSUB’s softball program in 2018-19.
In her first two seasons, Rayman has collected an overall record of 39-57, with the team going 23-24 in 2018. Rayman coached senior rightfielder Heather Tracy to All-American status, as she became the second player in program history to receive the top honor in the sport. The Yellowjackets narrowly missed the GNAC Championships in 2018, going 13-13 in league play and finishing in fifth place.
In her first season in charge of the program in 2017, Rayman led the Yellowjackets to a record of 16-33 overall and a seventh-place finish in the GNAC at 10-18 in league play. Juniors Megan Dettling and Heather Tracy were first-team all-GNAC and all-region selections under Rayman’s guidance.
Prior to her time at MSUB, Rayman spent five seasons as the assistant coach at NCAA Division II Washburn University in Topeka, Kan.
Rayman helped lead Washburn to conference tournament appearances in 2012 and 2015, and coached 25 all-conference picks. In 2014-15, her team was recognized with the third-highest grade point average in Division II at 3.65. Rayman also spent time assisting as the athletic department's compliance officer at Washburn, in addition to handling the softball team's travel arrangements and day-to-day operations.
Prior to her time at Washburn, Rayman was the head coach at Otero Junior College (Colo.), where she led the team to a record of 29-24 in one season at the helm. Under her guidance, Otero reached the National Junior College Athletic Association Region IX national tournament.
Rayman competed in softball at NCAA Division II Colorado Mesa University, where she earned a bachelor's degree in sport management in 2009. She went on to complete a master's degree in the same field of study at California University of Pennsylvania in 2012.
