Former MSUB baseball standout Austin Rue begins his second season as an assistant coach in 2015-16.
Rue assisted on the 2015 coaching staff that led MSUB to its first-ever GNAC title and an overall 27-23 record.
Rue brings a wealth of playing experience as well as recent coaching experience to the Yellowjacket program. Most recently, Rue served as the assistant coach for the Casper Cutthroats, a summer league team with players from a wide variety of NCAA and other collegiate levels.
As a player at MSUB, Rue was an all-conference third baseman as a senior in 2013, and finished his career third all-time in stolen bases (28). Rue also holds the longest hitting streak in MSUB history, recording a base hit in 27 consecutive games.
Rue completed a bachelor’s degree in business management from MSUB in 2013.
