Head coach Rob Bishop will begin his seventh season at MSUB during the 2016-17 academic year. His overall record at MSUB stands at 135-153-1 (.469) over six seasons.
MSUB completed its second straight GNAC regular-season title in 2016, winning 11 of its final 12 games and finishing in a tie for first place in the standings. Bishop then led the Yellowjackets to their first-ever postseason victory, with a 10-2 win over Western Oregon in the first round of the GNAC Championships.
Overall, MSUB posted its first-ever 30-win season, finishing the year 30-20 overall and 23-15 in GNAC play. Senior Luke Reinschmidt earned first-team all-region honors for the second straight season, and became just the seventh player in GNAC history to earn first-team all-league honors three times.
After leading the Yellowjackets to the 2015 Great Northwest Athletic Conference regular season title, Bishop was named the GNAC Coach of the Year. Under his guidance, MSUB won 20 of its final 25 conference games, clinching the conference title on the last day of the season and finishing the year with a record of 27-23, 22-10 in GNAC play.
Senior second baseman Brody Miller repeated as the GNAC Player of the Year, as an All-American, and

became just the second-ever baseball player to earn GNAC Male Athlete of the Year honors.
Bishop achieved several personal milestones in 2015, winning his 500th career game on March 20 at Northwest Nazarene, and his 100th game as a Yellowjacket on April 25 also against NNU.
In 2015, MSUB was named GNAC Team of the Week after sweeping NNU on the road on march 20-21, and also set a GNAC record for fewest runs (2) and earned runs (1) allowed in a four-game conference series from May 1-2 against Saint Martin’s. The Yellowjackets had nine all-conference selections – including six first-teamers – and nine academic all-conference selections in 2015 as well. Luke Reinschmidt joined Miller as the two all-region players for MSUB under Bishop.
In 2013, the Yellowjackets' GNAC record of 17-14 was good enough to earn third place in the regular season standings and a berth into the inaugural GNAC Baseball Championships. Bishop's squad placed seven players on the all-conference list and had one all-West Region selection. Yellowjacket players also earned GNAC Player of the Week honors on eight separate occasions during the 2013 season.
