Becky King begins her first season as head men’s and women’s tennis coach in 2014-15.
King is originally from Billings, graduating from Billings Central High School in 2002. She played varsity tennis all four years and was a state qualifier three of the four years.
King attended Carroll College in Helena, Mont., where she studied elementary education and physical education. She continued to play tennis and ran the intramural tennis program for the college students at the Helena Tennis Center. While in Helena, King coached the Helena High junior varsity boys and girls for four years (2003-2007) and was the assistant varsity coach (2007-2008).
In 2008 King moved back to Billings where she took a job as the Director of the Tennis Center at MSU Billings. With this job King worked closely with the Billings community tennis players, creating leagues, lessons, workshops, camps and clinics. As the director King also helped run the junior lessons offered at the center and worked closely with the head coach and college teams.
She continued coaching as the assistant girls’ varsity coach at Billings Central (2009-2011). King is in her seventh year of employment at MSUB.
