Ashley Genske

Ashley Genske enters her second year as a Graduate Assistant with the Women’s Basketball program for the 2012-13 season. She is directly involved with MSUB's pre- and post-season conditioning program and directs the weight training program. Some of her other duties include assisting with practice and game preparation, scouting, camps, team academics and individual player skill development.

According to head coach Kevin Woodin, "Ashley will be a great addition to our women's basketball program this year as a graduate assistant and I look forward to working with her."

Genske comes to MSU Billings after spending four years at Northern State University in Aberdeen, S.D. She spent three years with the Northern State Wolves basketball team. She led her freshman year in scoring and minutes played. Unfortunately, she suffered a knee injury at the end of her freshman year, only to come back and reinjure the same knee two more times, resulting in the end of her career.

In 2010, she earned a Bachelor of Science in Sports Marketing and Administration, with a minor in Coaching from Northern State University.

During her time at Northern State, Genske had the pleasure of working the Wolves Basketball Camps led by Coach Don Meyer, the all-time leader in wins for NCAA Men's Basketball. She also spent a year prior to arriving in Billings as a volunteer assistant for the Northern State Men’s Basketball program.

Originally from Waconia, Minnesota, Genske played at Mayer Lutheran High School. She is currently pursuing a Master’s Degree in Interdisciplinary Studies: Exercise and Sport Leadership.

Coach Woodin on Coach Ashley Genske: “It is great to have Ashley once again as our graduate assistant coach.  She is  a quality person with a tremendous work ethic.  Her duties include assisting with practice and game preparation/planning, film exchange, fundraising, academic monitoring, camps, and directing our in-season and out-of-season strength program.”
