  • Since 1967, Downey was the statistician for the Yellowjackets
  • He was a student trainer in 1967 and an equipment manager from 1969-71
  • He started the Booster Club in 1970
  • Was the basketball game manager from 1989-1992
  • Was the Chairman of the Hall of Fame and Distinction for numerous years
